Here's why Arshad Warsi felt Prabhas looked like a joker in Kalki 2898 AD
Even though Arshad Warsi is seen comparatively less on the silver screen these days, the memories of his Circuit role (in the evergreen Munnabhai series) still linger in the hearts of every cinegoer… all across the globe.
Speaking of Arshad Warsi, of late, he was in conversation with Samdish on the latter’s podcast Unfiltered by Samdish. When the show’s host asked Arshad Warsi asked about the film that he had seen last, the Munnabhai actor replied, ‘Kalki 2898’.
In the same breath, Arshad Warsi shocked everyone with his ‘observation’ / comment about Prabhas, who was the lead actor in Kalki 2898 AD. Speaking about Prabhas, Arshad Warsi said, “Maine Kalki dekhi thi, jo mujhe nahi achhi lagi. Prabhas... I am really sad, but he was like a joker” (I saw Kalki, which, I just did not like).
He added, “I want to see a Mad Max here. Tumne usko kya bana diya yaar. Kyun karte hain aisa mujhe nahi samaj mein aata hai (What have you made of him. I don’t understand as to why do the film makers do like this).
At the same time, Arshad Warsi was all praise for Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Kalki 2898 AD. He said, “Amit ji was unbelievable! I cannot understand that man. I swear, jitna power unmein hai, thoda sa mil jaaye toh life ban jaaye. He’s unreal. (The amount of power that Amit ji has got, even if I get a bit/ fraction of it, my life will be made!).
Arshad Warsi also praised Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao in the film Srikanth. About him, Arshad said, “I saw Srikanth which I liked it a lot, Rajkummar is outstanding in it”.
As for the film Kalki 2898 AD, after having collected over Rs 1100 Cr (worldwide) at the box office, the film has turned out to be one of the topmost blockbusters of this year. Besides Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, the film also stars Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in the leading roles.
