Gulshan Devaiah on working with Janhvi Kapoor in Ulajh: ‘We did not vibe at all’

Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah are busy promoting their film Ulajh, directed by Sudhanshu Saria. Speaking about the shooting process and how the star cast interacted with each other, actor Gulshan Devaiah said that he and Janhvi did not vibe at all.
Gulshan on his acting process
During a conversation with Film Companion, when the interviewer asked Janhvi and Gulshan about each other’s processes, the actor said that Janhvi has her own process.
He added that sometimes he does not want the other actors to have the same process because it throws him off differently sometimes. He said that sometimes he wants to be surprised and go to a place where he would not go. Gulshan said that he needs to react to something that the director or the actor has impulsively done.

Speaking about his camaraderie with Janhvi, Gulshan said that he does not think that the two of them vibe at all. He added that she does not find him funny or interesting.
He added that it was never like he and Janhvi were sitting, chatting, and spending time and use that familiarity in the performance, which he said happens with other actors at other places. He said that people don't necessarily become friends but find something in common or interesting. The actor concluded by saying that he never felt that there was something missing or lacking in the scene.
Janhvi added that Gulshan surprised her a lot, making her job easy because all she had to do was react to how unpredictable he was being. Janhvi added that Gulshan is an actor who is great at being unpredictable effortlessly on screen.
She said that as an audience, nobody can gauge where his actions or impulses are going to take him. And she thinks is a unique asset to have as an actor.
Helmed by Sudhanshu Saria, Ulajh, starring Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, and Roshan Mathew, will be released in theatres on August 2.
