Grandpa-to-be Mahesh Bhatt shares excitement as his pregnant daughter Alia Bhatt admitted to hospital: 'Waiting for a new sun to rise'

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt couldn’t hold his excitement as he is soon going to be welcoming his first grandchild anytime soon. His daughter and actress Alia Bhatt , who is pregnant with her first child, has been admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning, i.e November 6. The actress arrived at HN Reliance Hospital along with her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor at 7:30 am today. Her mom Soni Razdan was also spotted arriving at the hospital after them.

Alia and Ranbir announced their pregnancy news in June with an adorable picture from their sonography session. And alongside the photos, Alia wrote, “Our baby coming soon.” At that time, Mahesh Bhatt excitedly told Etimes, “Ah, my baby is going to have a baby! I am so happy for Ranbir and Alia. May our ‘tribe’ increase. And now I have to prepare for the most important role of my life: The role of a Grandfather. This is going to be a grand debut." And now, when finally the big day has arrived, the filmmaker expressed his happiness, and said, “Waiting for a new sun to rise. A fresh sparkling dew drop of life," he was quoted as saying to the news portal.

Alia’s date of delivery was expected to be around the end of this month, i.e between November 28 and November 30. Last month, Alia and Ranbir hosted a baby shower ceremony which was attended by their family and close friends. Neetu Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, and others became part of the intimate celebration at their Vastu home. Alia had offered glimpses of the happy pictures from the family event on her Instagram handle.

Workwise, Alia was last seen alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor in the adventure sci-fi drama Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji. She is all set to make her Hollywood debut with Heart Of Stone alongside Gal Gadot. She also has Karan Johar’s next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-starring Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa alongside Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif in the pipeline.
