'Go and settle in Pakistan forever': Ranbir Kapoor gets brutally trolled for saying he'd love to collaborate with Pakistani artists
Ranbir Kapoor got trolled for congratulating the Pakistani film industry for a hit like The Legend of Maula Jatt.
Ranbir Kapoor spoke about his life and film career at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2022 last week and now several snippets of his interview has gone viral. The actor who scored big at the box office with his movie Brahmastra this year, also used the platform to congratulate the of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and team on the blockbuster success of their film The Legend of Maula Jatt which will also release in India soon.
Fawad and Ranbir shared screen space in Karan Johar directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil back in 2016, soon after which the Pakistani heartthrob had to bid Bollywood goodbye owing to the tensions between the two countries. However, Ranbir’s warm response to the actor’s film suggests that they still share a good camaraderie.
Ranbir was asked if he’d ever collaborate with a Pakistani team of artists at the film festival held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, during an interaction with the audience. Ranbir positively responded to the question saying he’d love to.
“I think there are no boundaries for artistes, especially for arts. Many congratulations to the Pakistan film industry for Maula Jatt. It is one of the biggest hits that we have seen in the last few years. Of course, I would love to,” Ranbir said at the event when asked about collaborating with artists from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
However, the Bollywood actor is now drawing flak online for his statement where people are calling him out for watching and supporting Maula Jatt. The trolls now want Ranbir to move to Pakistan to fulfil his desire.
Ranbir Kapoor has had a wonderful year personally as he got married to Alia Bhatt and welcomed their baby daughter Raha. However, at the box office while his two highly anticipated films released and Brahmastra was a raging hit, Shamshera turned out to be a disaster.
Ranbir is currently busy with his next Animal and will also be seen next year in Luv Ranjan’s untitled next starring Shraddha Kapoor.
