Gangubai Kathiawadi: Ranbir Kapoor strikes Alia Bhatt's Gangubai pose, reacts to the recently released trailer of her film

    Ranbir Kapoor promoted girlfriend Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi striking her famous pose from the film when spotted out and about in the city.

    Ranbir Kapoor has registered his reaction to girlfriend Alia Bhatt ’s trailer oh her upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actor was spotted in the city today where the paparazzi asked the actor how he liked the trailer of the movie which dropped today.

    The actor’s prompt response to the question posed by the paps was “Bohot badhiya, aapko kaiesa laga?” while his reaction was met with cheer the actor also helped promote Alia’s film by striking her famous Gangubai pose from the movie which was joining his hands above his head with his back to the cameras.

    Gangubai Kathiawadi is Alia Bhatt’s first film with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali where the actress is playing the Mafia Queen of Kamathipura and has managed to impress fans with her both her different look and powerful performance.

    Ajay Devgn also stars in the film in a cameo while the cast includes promising actors like Seema Pawah, Jim Sarbh, Vijay Raaz among others. The movie is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The real life Gangubai was known as the madam of Kamthipura who had powerful connections in the underworld and in politics and strived to improve the lives of sex workers.

    Incidentally Ranbir Kapoor had made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansli’s Saawariya in 2007. He had also admitted in an interview once that he and Alia could have made his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s version of Balika Badhu when he was 20 and Alia was just 12.

    While their film with Alia and SLB clearly failed to work out way back when, Ranbir and Alia will come together in Ayan Mukherji starrer Brahmastra . The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas this year after being in production for five long years.
