Following its less than two-week-long theatrical run, Vishwak Sen’s latest outing Gangs of Godavari is all set to make its digital debut soon. The makers of the film have announced that the OTT rights have been acquired by Netflix, and it will be available for streaming on the platform. “#GangsofGodavari coming to Netflix on 14 June in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada!” the OTT platform announced on its social media pages.

Gangs of Godavari falls short of expectations

Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the latest Telugu action drama, starring Vishwak Sen, failed to impress audiences despite its initial hype. The film was heavily criticized for its weak writing, although the lead roles’ performances were praised. Some viewers, who did enjoy the film, found it to be an entertainer and praised Vishwak Sen along with the rest of the cast's performance. On the other hand, the negative and mixed reviews generally came from audiences who were disappointed by the film’s improper editing and abrupt narration. Despite, less competition from other Telugu releases, Gangs of Godavari failed to lure audiences to the theatres. With its OTT release on the way, the movie is expected to reach a wider audience and hopefully garner a better reception.
