Now, addressing Anurag Kashyap's comments, Game Changer director Shankar has clarified the misunderstanding. Shankar emphasized that he did not mean the film was inspired by Instagram reels but rather that it was made to deliver its story quickly and effectively to keep audiences engaged.

Shankar expressed his shock at Kashyap’s reaction and stated,"I didn’t say anything about Instagram reels. I meant that we must convey things quickly and effectively. When we fail to do so, we give the audience space to get distracted. The film should remain engaging throughout. Editor Reuben has achieved that in Game Changer. That’s what I intended to convey. I didn’t know he had said this, and it’s shocking because my words came from a genuine place."

    What did Anurag Kashyap say?

In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap voiced his disappointment over Shankar's remarks about catering to audiences with short attention spans. Kashyap said, "I recently read a statement by Shankar sir where he said the audience's attention span has become very short because they watch reels. So, they had to keep that in mind while making Game Changer. I don’t know what that means, and we’ll only know what he meant when we see the film."

Meanwhile, S. Shankar’s Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, is slated to hit theaters on January 10, 2025.
