From Ranbir Kapoor to Ayushmann Khurrana: Actors who can play Yuvraj Singh in his biopic

Recently the reports revealed that producer Bhushan Kumar is working on former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh’s biopic. The film is reported to showcase Yuvraj’s remarkable journey in the cricket field and his personal life, including him being a cancer survivor. While the makers have not revealed the star cast of the film, here is a list of four Bollywood actors that we think would be able to capture Yuvraj’s journey in its true essence.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor has proven his acting mettle by starring in films like Wake Up Sid, Barfi, Animal, and Tamasha, among others. The actor got into the skin of his character when he portrayed the role of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in his biopic film Sanju, which makes us believe that he would be able to do justice to Yuvraj’s personality in his biopic.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh is popular for his energetic personality and the actor has delivered impeccable performances in Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, and Gully Boy, among others. The actor effortlessly portrayed the role of former Indian captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s 83. Ranvir would be an ideal actor to play the role of Yuvraj Singh in his biopic.

Siddhant Chaturvedi

Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi gained popularity after starring in the web series titled Inside Edge, where he played the role of a cricketer. He has become one of the most promising actors in Bollywood, even Yuvraj in an interview in 2020 suggested that he would like Siddhant to portray him in the biopic.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana has the same Punjabi cultural background as Yuvraj Singh and it could help the actor to portray the cricketer’s dialect and accent on point. Ayushmann is known to play difficult characters that challenge him, and playing Yuvraj would definitely put the actor’s abilities to the test.

For those unaware, Yuvraj Singh is a former Indian cricketer. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011. The cricket star tied the knot with actress Hazel Keech in 2016 and announced his retirement from cricket in 2019.
