Forget Isha and Shiva, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor romancing in Brahmastra 2 has got us all excited

It is not a hidden fact that Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra not only became a commercial success but also piqued the interest of the fans with its unique concept of the Astraverse. But if there was one thing that got all the fans of the film talking, it was who will be essaying the mighty Dev who is Shiva ( Ranbir Kapoor )’s father in the film. The excitement became more palpable after it was confirmed especially after the film’s OTT release that Deepika Padukone is playing Ranbir’s mother, Amrita in the film franchise.

Now, according to a news report in BollywoodLife, they have presented a strong theory that Ranbir Kapoor will follow in the footsteps of Prabhas in Baahubali. Yes, what you are thinking is true, Ranbir might be the one who will also be playing the role of Dev. Thus, he will be having a double role in the Brahmastra franchise wherein he will be playing both the father-son duo, Shiva and Dev.

That clearly means it will be Ranbir Kapoor who will be romancing Deepika Padukone aka Amrita in Brahmastra: Dev. Dev and Amrita’s characters were shown to have an intense lovers-to-rival storyline. Their journey started off as being passionate lovers but they soon locked horns after Dev let his greed for the Brahmastra get the better of him while Amrita decided to choose the side of the good and fight with her own lover to prevent the Brahmastra from landing in his hands. The sequel of the film will deal prominently with the storyline of Dev and his love-hate relationship with Amrita.

Earlier many names like KGF star Yash, Hrithik Roshan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Deepika Padukone’s husband Ranveer Singh’s name was coming up to have been approached for Dev’s role. But now, speculations are rife that it will be Ranbir Kapoor himself who will be playing Dev. Earlier, Ranbir had played a dual role of father and son in Shamshera.
