'Finally realising what he lost': Kartik Aaryan poses with Karan Johar at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, netizens react

The rift between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar goes back to 2019 when the former was suddenly dropped from Dostana 2. The alleged feud was triggered when the producer announced that they would recast Dostana 2 after shooting certain scenes with Kartik, citing professional circumstances. Since then the two had made several appearances together in these past four years, suggesting that the duo have buried the hatchet. In the latest development, Kartik and Karan posed together for a photograph at the 14th edition of the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.

In the photo, the actor-producer duo looked happy as they posed in their formal attires. While Kartik wore a dark grey suit with a white shirt and tie, Karan opted for an all-black ensemble. As their picture went viral, surprised netizens left their opinions about their union after the bitter past. One of the users suggested that Karan has realised his mistake. “Karan finally realising what he lost,” said the user. The second user reacted, “I m glad Kartik is not dependent on KJ for any project.. he got success without this nepo favouring group.” “Aunt Karan has to bury his own shit as Kartik does not need him. It’s the other way round now, said the third user. “Kartik doesn’t need KJ for the successful movies,” added another.

Earlier Kartik had talked about altercation with Karan on Aap Ki Adalat. He refrained from revealing the real reason and said, "This happens sometimes. I haven't spoken about this before. I believe in what my mother has taught me and these are my value too... when there's an altercation between two people, the younger one should never speak about it. I follow that and hence I never speak about it." He later added that he never left a film because of money.

On the work front, Kartik was recently seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha alongside Kiara Advani. He is currently shooting for Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. Karan, on the other hand, is basking in the success of his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
