Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil's previous movie, Dhoomam, has finally made its streaming debut. Hombale Films has made Dhoomam available for free streaming on YouTube, coinciding with World No Tobacco Day.

"My movie Dhoomam is smoking HOT (pun intended) and now free to watch on YouTube. My heartfelt gratitude to Hombale Films for making this happen," said director Pawan Kumar, expressing his gratitude to the producers.

Dhoomam is touted to be a psychological thriller, exploring the psyche of top executives working in the tobacco industry. Pawan noted that he wanted to tell the story of Dhoomam to create awareness not only about the harmful effects of tobacco on one's health but also to expose the corporate nexus behind this business empire.

"Why did I want to tell the story of Dhoomam? You are bombarded with 'No Smoking' rules and regulations, right? Do this now - open Google, search 'highest shareholders of ITC,' and look at who comes SECOND on that list! That's one of the reasons I wanted to tell this story, just one of the MANY reasons," said Pawan.

Based on the trailer, Pawan seems to have packed his social commentary into a thriller genre. The film revolves around a clever marketing agent, played by Fahadh Faasil, working for a big tobacco company. He seems to prioritize his own wealth over the health of society and comes up with innovative ways to keep the profits rolling for tobacco makers. But, like smoking, greed is also a bad habit with painful side effects.

Dhoomam opened to mixed reviews last year and failed to make an impact at the box office. Following its poor showing in cinemas, it also struggled to find a streaming partner. Earlier, the filmmakers had made the movie available for streaming on a rental basis.

Dhoomam also stars Aparna Balamurali, alongside Roshan Mathew, Vineeth, Anu Mohan, and Achyuth Kumar, among others.
