Fighter: Know the secret behind Hrithik Roshan's epic body transformation for Siddharth Anand's directorial
Hrithik Roshan's fitness trainer Kris Gethin shared actor’s diet and workout regime for his upcoming release, Fighter.
Time and again, Hrithik Roshan has pushed boundaries to do justice with his characters in films. For Super 30, the actor went deglam and also lost weight to look like Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar. Later, bulked up to play dreaded gangster in Vikram Vedha. And now, he has left fans mesmerised with his unbelievable physique in upcoming film, Fighter. At the age of 50, he has achieved a feat which is nothing less than extraordinary. His fitness trainer Kris Gethin has a crucial role behind his jaw-dropping metamorphosis.
Hrithik is all set to play fighter pilot in the Siddharth Anand’s directorial. For the movie, he has followed an intense workout and diet regime to achieve the chiseled look. Talking to India Today, Kris said that the actor is extremely dedicated and focused when it comes to his workouts. The actor has gone topless for the scenes, and Kris enhanced his body by monitoring macros, pumping up and utilising the glycogen. He said that Hrithik made it look easier on screen, but he’s done way more preparation.
Talking about Hrithik’s morning routine during shoot days, Kris said that the actor used to wake up early as 5 or 6 am and hit gym after forty-five minutes of taking breakfast. He did an hour-long intense workout which included weight training for five days a week depending on his sleep schedule. Kris also detailed his workout regime which included functional workout like boxing, kettlebell work, battle ropes, and plyometric, usually for about 30 minutes. He used to do cardio once or twice a day in the form of running, elliptical, stair master rower, swimming etc. His days used to end at 9pm and not later than that.
Kris also elaborated on Hrithik’s diet and said that he was depended on egg whites, chicken, whey protein, fish and doses of complex carbohydrates in form of oats, quinoa, rice and sweet potato. He usually had 6-7 meals in intervals. And the days when he can’t eat, he drank it in the form of shakes, but usually it was whole foods whenever possible.
Coming to Fighter, Hrithik is set to share screen space with Deepika Padukone in the film. The film also has Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. Backed by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, the action-packed aerial thriller is set to hit theatres on January 25, 2024.
