The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar is someone who has not just always pushed his limits as an actor, but also as a filmmaker as well! Almost every film of his has always proved to be a lesson in filmmaking. Recently, he took to social media and shared an extremely memorable incident which took place during the making of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

On his part, Farhan posted, ‘What happened here blew my mind and I had to share it with you. Part of my process (with certain characters) is to create a playlist of music that helps me identify with the underlying theme of the film and the psychology of the person I’m portraying. Through the making of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, this theme by Trevor Jones emerged as the one that got me there’.

He recalled that it had started dramatically with seemingly ominous tones and was then followed by a folksy fiddle motif that repeated to the point where one was left wondering as to was that going anywhere! He added that, one good listen to it, one could feel that there was something subtly building underneath which finally led to the release of all that pressure and expectation, the victory theme.

Farhan further wrote, ‘This to me, represented Milkha ji’s life in one piece of music .. It played constantly on my headphones through the making of the film. The editor didn’t know. The background score composers didn’t know. It was a secret that only Rakeysh knew. Yesterday on set in Ladakh, I happened to hear the theme while waiting for the crew to get a shot ready and wondered what it would be like if this theme was dropped in the final race .. Tried it out on a whim and what happened was pure magic’.

He wrapped up the said post stating that the edit was untouched and also revealed that the theme was ‘Promentory’ from Last of the Mohicans, which was composed by Trevor Jones. The said post saw Hrithik Roshan commenting, ‘Love it’.

As for the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, one may recall that, it was based on the inspiring and illustrious life story of Milkha Singh, the ace Indian athlete and Olympian who turned out to be a champion at the Commonwealth Games and also two-time 400m champion of the Asian Games! Besides Farhan Akhtar, the film also starred Divya Dutta, Sonam Kapoor (special appearance), Meesha Shafi, Pavan Malhotra, Yograj Singh, Art Malik, and Prakash Raj in important roles.
