Exclusive- Shefali Shah calls Darlings co-star Alia Bhatt a ‘cracker’; lauds her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi

Shefali Shah is one the most talented actors of Bollywood, who is finally getting the much deserved due for her incredible work. After winning hearts with projects like Ajeeb Daastaans and Delhi Crime , the beauty is back on our screens with her recently released film Jalsa. Co-starring the equally versatile Vidya Balan , the thriller follows the story of two women coming from different social strata and how an accident changes their lives. While Shefali is always lauded for her perfect dialogue delivery, this time she left us in awe of how beautifully she emoted her character’s feelings for the camera.

Up next, Shefali will be sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt in Darlings , which is latter’s first project as a producer. In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Shah revealed, “I’m playing parallel lead. There’s Alia and me and there is Vijay Varma , there is Roshan Mathew and its one of the best scripts I have read, easily one of.. it’s a cracker of a film! And it’s been a treat working with them. It’s been an absolute treat working with them.” Talking about the film, she said, “It’s insane! It is so wicked and fun.”

The actress shared how Alia, as well as her Doctor G co-star Ayushmann Khurrana , are incredibly focused, dedicated and good actors. Shefali also lauded Alia’s performance in her last film Gangubai Kathiawadi and stated, “She is a cracker! I felt so proud that the film was, you know, it was ‘Alia’s film’. It was a female centric film that opened so brilliantly at the box office and did so well. And she is amazing! But she is a good actor, I mean that’s not a surprise.”

Shefali and Alia’s comedy drama Darlings is expected to arrive on Netflix soon.
