Exclusive: Sharvari reveals what Rekha thought of her performance in debut film Bunty Aur Babli 2

Actress Sharvari Wagh has been a part of the film industry since 2015. She started off as an assistant director with films like Bajirao Mastani and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Last year, she finally got the chance to face the camera in the much loved web series The Forgotten Army - Azaadi Ke Liye. Well, in 2021 she finally got her dream debut in Bollywood with Bunty Aur Babli 2, a sequel to the 2005 super hit. Despite sharing the screen with superstars Saif Ali Khan , Rani Mukerji and Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sharvari aka the new Babli stood out thanks to her magnetic charm and promising performance.

Well, in an exclusive interview with Desimartini, the young actress revealed that the best compliment she received post the film’s release was from veteran actress Rekha . Sharvari shared, “Actually the film released on Friday and Saturday evening I got a call from Rani maam and she said Rekha ji wants to talk to you. And I said ‘what! Rekha ji?’ And I didn’t know what to say and Rekha ji took maam’s phone of course, she spoke to me and she said that ‘I have never seen, in a very long time, someone light up the screen like you have’. And for me, I think for me those words I’m going to keep with me for the rest of my life.”

Sharvari went on to remember her reaction to Rekha’s mini review of her debut film. She stated, “So it was like a big, big fan moment and in fact I told Rekha ji that maam I don’t know what to say and she’s like ‘tum chup baitho sab mujhse yahi kehte hain’.” Now that’s quite an achievement, don’t you think?
