Exclusive- Aayush Sharma was unable to come out of Rahulya’s character post Antim; says ‘my behavior had changed’
Antim: The Final Truth hit theatres a while back. Audiences were impressed by Aayush Sharma’s transformation and performance as gangster Rahulya.
Aayush Sharma left us in awe of not just his physical transformation but also his growth as an actor with his second film Antim: The Final Truth . He portrayed the role of a deadly gangster named Rahulya in the action thriller, which hit theatres last month. The film also stars his superstar brother-in-law Salman Khan in a pivotal role, but Aayush successfully stood out. This was a pleasant surprise for the audience as well as critics. He immersed into the character and lived it on-screen. However, it was not easy for Aayush to come out of Rahulya’s character post Antim’s shoot.
In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, he revealed, “It was difficult. It didn’t happen! I remember when my shooting got over, it was the next day when I woke up, my behavior had changed. The way I spoke to people had changed, the way I looked at people had changed. When you come back home, there’s a little bit of that hangover of what you’ve done, because I was on the movie set for 2 months. I used to live on the set and when I go back home, when I meet my family, somewhere down the line that little bit of that behavior patterns and how I was conducting myself on set was coming out at home. So I remember I called up Mahesh sir and I said ‘Sir, it’s not going’.”
Director Mahesh Manjrekar explained that it happens and suggested the actor to take some time off. Aayush remembered, “So first thing he told me is like go shave your beard off, color your hair, wear nothing don’t wear black because second half of the film I’m only wearing black. He said don’t wear black. When you look in the mirror you should not see this character only. Like, just your hairstyle has to change, your color has to.. just change! So you know I just shaved off my beard, I changed my hair color and just like, you know, when you look in the mirror you don’t see that. And don’t do anything which is this character. He said go for a holiday, just ease out, just spend time with your family, you’ll ease out. And that’s how it came out, slowly.”
Well, we can’t wait to see which character he immerses into for his next film!
