Emergency: Kangana Ranaut drops the first track Singhasan Khali Karo; Ektaa Kapoor reacts!

As committed, the fiery actress Kangana Ranaut took to social media and shared the first ever track from her upcoming film Emergency. She captioned the said post as, ‘When unshakeable tyranny meets an immovable revolt, the echoes of #SinghasanKhaliKaro becomes the people’s anthem’.

The song starts off with the fiery actress saying, ‘Agar main unke Haque ke liye saari duniya se lad sakti hoon… toh apne haque ke liye, unse bhi lad sakti hoon”. This is followed by Anupam Kher’s character addressing a massive rally of people who had come to listen to him. This then, gets followed by the track, “Singhasan khali karo… ye junta aandhi hai”.

Jo sarkaar ke khilaaf aawaaz utathaa hai… uski aawaz desh mein ghunjani nahi chahiye? Jawaan ho
ya budda… spare nobody! This then, is followed by a voice that tells (the) late Indira Gandhi (played by Kangana Ranaut), that in order to declare emergency, the permission of the entire cabinet is required. To which, Kanagana’s character says, “Main hi cabinet hoon”. (I am the cabinet myself!).,

As for the said track, one listen to it and the audiences are bound to be transported back to the fervor of the 1970s era! The track mirrors the situations which were prevailing before the late Indira Gandhi declared emergency and around that time, the foundations of democracy were shaken and how!

Amongst the many who reacted to the track was one other than Ektaa R Kapoor, who commented, ‘Faaaaaaaaab’. Another user wrote, ‘Kanagna is a brilliant actress, no one can beat her in acting skills. You can ignore Kangana but you can't ignore Kangana as an actress. Best female director and actor in india. Superb ,thrilling..seems like experiencing emergency era live’.

For the unversed, the iconic lines of 'Singhasan Khali Karo Ki Janta Aati Hai'was originally penned by legendary poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. This line was a strong and underlined reminder to the fact that, in a democracy… the ultimate power lies with the people!

As for the track in the film Emergency, it’s the impeccable trio of Udit Narayan, Nakash Aziz and Nakul Abhyankar who have given their vocals to the track. While the track has been penned by Manoj Muntashir, the music has been composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Besides Kangana Ranaut, the film Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and also the late Satish Kaushik. While the film is being directed by Kangana Ranaut, it is being produced by Zee Studios, Kangana Ranaut and Renu Pitti.
