Just as everyone was super excited to see the film Emergency, which has been touted as one of the most awaited films of the seasons, there came a news that the film’s release has been postponed from September 6. The reason cited for the same was that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had not cleared the film.

The latest update on the same is that, the well-known law-based reporting website LiveLaw took to social media and posted, ‘Order: Therefore, the CBFC is directed to decide any objections or representations, on or before September 13. We now place this matter for further hearing on September 18. Chandrachud: Milords, there are Ganpati leaves. Please give me a few more days. Bench: You cannot say that you won't work because of the Ganpati festival. The Bench, however, agrees and directs CBFC to decide the representations by September 18’.

As a ‘reply’ to the aforementioned tweet, Kangana Ranaut took to X (formerly known as Twitter), and posted, High court has blasted sensor for illegally withholding the cirtificate of #emergency’. And when one user pointed out that she had written the wrong spelling of the word ‘certificate’, Kangana immediately swung into action and replied stating, ‘I am not some English dictionary, I am getting calls to correct this spelling… as if’!

As for the film Emergency, Zee Entertainment Enterprises (which happens to be the film's producer) had also approached the Bombay High Court seeking a way to the CBFC to issue a certificate for the film. And, it was today (September 4), that a division bench consisting of Justice Firdosh Pooniwalla and Justice B P Colabawalla went on to accept the producer Zee Entertainment Enterprises’ contention stating that the certificate was ready but had not been allotted.

As for the film Emergency, besides Kangana Ranaut, it also stars the veteran actor Anupam Kher, along with Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and also (the late) Satish Kaushik in all important roles.
