    For all those who were eagerly waiting to see the fiery and feisty Kangana Ranaut in her most awaited film Emergency, here is some update for you. It now seems that the wait to see the film has just got a bit longer.

    As per a report in Bollywood Hungama’s social media handle as well as a source based news report in ABP website, it has been stated that, ‘In a shocking development today, the makers of Kangana Ranaut-starrer Emergency have decided to postpone the film’s release. In other words, it won’t arrive in cinemas on September 6, as scheduled’.

    For the unversed, the Kangana Ranaut starrer will not be released on its scheduled date of September 6. Amidst the release of the film, there was also opposition from the Sikh community, as the film had been accused of being anti-Sikh. The Mohali residents Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh had filed a petition against the film, wherein they demanded that the film be shown to Sikh representatives before its release.

    As a response to the said petition Satyapal Jain (Additional Solicitor General), who has been representing the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), had informed the court that the certification of the film Emergency was under review. As of now, the reports suggest that the Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency has not been granted a censor certificate.

    As per a news report in ABP, besides the aforementioned, there were also the Akali Dal who had also expressed robust disagreement to the film's release. They had reportedly sent a legal notice to the Censor Board.

    As for the film Emergency, it stars Kangana Ranaut along with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and (the late) Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The film, which is reportedly a biographical political film and revolves around the time when the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed a state of emergency across India
