Election results 2024: Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut is currently leading from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. As June 4 is the result day of the Lok Sabha elections, Kangana sought the blessings of her mother in Himachal Pradesh after learning of her lead. She then uploaded the pictures to her social media handle.

Kangana Ranaut takes blessings from her mother

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kangana shared a couple of pictures with her mother. She captioned it, “mata ishwar ka roop hain, aaj meri maa mujhe dahi shakkar khilati huy (Mother is a form of God. Here's my mother feeding me curd and sugar today).”

In the pictures, Kangana is seen wearing a beautiful blush pink saree, paired with pearl necklace and matching earrings. Her mother, who is wearing floral-print ethnic attire, is seen giving Kangana a peck on her forehead in the third picture.

Kangana’s fans quickly took notice of the post and congratulated Kangana on leading the electoral ballet against Congress' Vikramaditya Singh in the early rounds of counting. One user wrote, “Hindustan ki sherni kangana ranaut jeet rahi hai,” while another wrote, “So happy for you .. You are winning.”

When Kangana Ranaut announced her political debut

Kangana is currently leading on the voter count with 37,000 votes against Congress' Vikramaditya Singh. Kangana announced that she will be contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate earlier this year.

In a social media post, she wrote, “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party (BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my birthplace Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency). I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting the Lok Sabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to being a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks.”

Speaking about her future acting career, Kangana told Aaj Tak that she would quit Bollywood after winning the elections from Mandi.
