Dulquer Salmaan's Lucky Baskhar to clash with Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG? 'No way', says producers

Lucky Baskhar may clash with OG
The release date for actor Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming Telugu movie Lucky Baskhar was announced on Wednesday. The producer confirmed that the movie will hit screens worldwide on September 27, the same date earmarked for Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's most-awaited movie They Call Him OG.
During a recent media interaction, producer Naga Vamsi was questioned about the possibility of releasing Lucky Baskhar alongside They Call Him OG. He expressed a complete lack of willingness to clash with the Pawan Kalyan-starrer at the box office. "Why would we release our film if OG also releases on the same day? Our film is no match for OG," said Naga Vamsi.
However, Naga Vamsi also refrained from confirming whether the release of They Call Him OG now stands postponed. "How do we know that? Ask the producers," he added.
Producer D.V.V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment, who bankrolled the Oscar-winning movie RRR, earlier this year announced that OG will hit the screens on September 27. An official confirmation on the same is awaited.
Written and directed by Sujeeth, OG is a gangster drama set against the backdrop of Mumbai. Pawan Kalyan essays the role of the most-dreaded, katana-wielding gangster. The film also stars Emraan Hashmi and Priyanka Mohan in key roles.
Meanwhile, Lucky Baskhar seems like a caper comedy. Earlier, the filmmakers released a teaser for the movie, giving a glimpse of Dulquer's character. In the period drama, Dulquer plays an ordinary bank employee who comes into possession of unaccounted money. 'Lucky' Baskhar is determined to move heaven and earth to protect the wealth that's fallen into his hands.
Filmmaker Venky Atluri, known for Vaathi and Tholi Prema, has helmed Lucky Baskhar.
