Dream Girl 2 Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana's film continues good run on Day 7, earns THIS much

Despite the roaring box office run of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, Ayushmann Khurrana successfully earned itself a good place at the ticket window. The comedy-drama pulled impressive footfalls at the theatres in its first week of release. The film minted Rs 8 crore at the domestic box office, taking the total collection closer to Rs 70 crore.
According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, the film which hit cinemas on August 25, 2023 had an overall 26.65 per cent occupancy on Thursday. The film’s total collection now stands at Rs 67.50 crore net in India, and Rs 89.1 crore worldwide as per reports. For the unaware, the film had a decent opening of Rs 10.69 crore and further witnessed a jump on the following weekend days, inched close to Rs 50 crore collection.
The first Monday collection was Rs 5.42 crore, while on Tuesday, the film saw slight growth to Rs 5.87 crore. The Wednesday collection surged further to Rs 7.50 crore. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film is the sequel to Ayushmann’s 2019 hit of the same name. Backed by Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, the film also stars Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Seema Pahwa and Manoj Joshi.
In the film, Ayushmann reprised her role of Pooja, who dresses up as a woman and woo men. Not only the audience, the film also received positive reviews from the critics. Delighted with the film’s response at the box office, Ayushmann said that he is thrilled as the film gave him his career-best opening. “Having grown up captivated by the magic of cinema and communal viewing, it's truly heartwarming to witness audiences returning to theatres, sharing laughter, and experiencing my film, Dream Girl 2. The film is a non-stop entertainment package and it has got a great start which is an indication that the film will live up to its promise,” he told ANI.
