    It’s official! Dhanush is all set to collaborate with Amaran-fame director Rajkumar Periasamy for his 55th film, tentatively titled D55. Taking to social media, the makers of the film shared the exciting news and revealed that the project has officially been launched with a puja ceremony.

    Sharing pictures from the event, the makers wrote:“#D55ByGopuramFilms Happy & excited to announce that #GopuramFilmsProductionNo7 is #D55. Updates parakutha.. Next photo set dropping soon.”

    The puja ceremony was attended by Dhanush’s Vada Chennai director Vetrimaaran, along with the cast and crew members of the film. The project is set to be written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who, after the success of his latest blockbuster Amaran, has teamed up with Dhanush for his next venture.

    According to sources, Dhanush was impressed by Rajkumar's unique and powerful vision for the film and immediately agreed to come on board. Produced by Anbu Chezhiyan of Gopuram Films, the movie promises to be an exciting addition to Dhanush's impressive lineup of upcoming projects.

    Dhanush seems to have packed his schedule for the next few years with several projects, showing no signs of taking a break anytime soon. While his previous film Raayan was a hit, the actor is now looking forward to his next directorial ventures, Idly Kadai and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). While the release date for Idly Kadai has been locked for April 10, 2025, the release date for NEEK is yet to be announced.

    On the acting front, Dhanush will also appear in Sekhar Kammula's bilingual gangster drama Kubera and the ambitious biopic of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja. Additionally, he has a Bollywood film titled Tere Ishq Mein, directed by his frequent collaborator Anand L. Rai.

    Furthermore, Dhanush is in talks for projects with filmmakers like Vignesh Raja, H. Vinoth, Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, and Mari Selvaraj. Fans are also eagerly awaiting his reunion with Vetrimaaran for the highly anticipated sequel to their hit film Vada Chennai.
