Even as OMG 2 release is being eagerly awaited, the reports of the film undergoing 20 cuts on directions of the revising committee of the Censor Board of Film Certification has spoiled the party for Akshay Kumar fans. Furthermore, the reports say that the committee has also suggested an adult certificate for the OMG sequel for the reason that certain topics around which the movie revolves are unsuitable for kids. Notably, the first instalment was popular with kids.

This controversy is expected to negatively impact the promotional campaign of OMG 2, which is scheduled to make it to cinemas across the country on August 11. The development has also reportedly left the makers of the film worried. However, Akshay Kumar fans are not taking this new development hands down and reacted in their own unique way on social media. A fan said, “20 cuts karne ke bad kya short film dekhenge hum?”, while another commented, “to fir bnani kyu”.A netizen humorously mentioned, “20 cut yani ki 30 mint ki movie bachi hogi fir to jisme 20 mint ke songs honge.” A fan said, “isse achha release hi mat karo.”

Meanwhile, the Akshay-starrer came under the scanner ever since its trailer was launched. The board is said to have asked for major changes in the movie due to its focus on sex education. A few other scenes were also considered controversial by the board for unknown reasons. OMG 2 is directed by Amit Rai and stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam Dhar in pivotal roles. This is being seen as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 release OMG – Oh My God. Recently, Adipurush and Oppenheimer have also seen a severe backlash both on social media and ground due to some controversial issues.
