Deepika Padukone on supporting her values being a public figure: 'Okay to be the only person with...'
Deepika Padukone is currently busy shooting for her upcoming action thriller Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan.
Deepika Padukone who last featured in the blockbuster Jawan, opened up about how she balances being a public figure and adopting a value system while safeguarding her boundaries. Over the years, the actress has consistently found herself in controversies including backlash for her film Padmavat and for attending a students’ protest against the amended Citizenship Act in Jawaharlal Nehru University in January 2020. In the latest media interaction, the actress said that she expresses when she strongly feels about something irrespective of having a different point of view.
“I just don’t know any other way of being When I feel really strongly or passionately about something, I don’t think twice about expressing myself. I’ve grown to become this person where I’m not afraid of speaking my truth or owning up to mistakes. I’m not afraid of saying sorry and I’m okay to be the only person in the room who has a different point of view,” she told the Vogue.
The actress also admitted that she is a workaholic. “I was diagnosed with depression in 2014. Once that happens, you realise that taking care of your mental health is also work. A part of that everyday work is finding balance. I’ve found that balance where I am a proud workaholic but not the type where I feel burnt out, exhausted or like I’m on the verge of having a breakdown,” she added.
Workwise, Padukone is basking in the success of Pathaan and Jawan. The actress starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in both blockbusters. Up next, she will be seen in Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role. Besides it, she also has Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD co-starring Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Disha Patani. She has also signed up for The Intern remake.
