Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh officially announce the arrival of their first child: 'Welcome baby girl'

Bollywood's IT couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who got married in 2018, have welcomed a baby girl. The actress was admitted to the hospital on September 7, 2024. The couple welcomed their first child, today on September 8. Announcing the news of the arrival of their baby girl, the couple shared a joint post on Instagram.

Taking to Instagram, the couple shared a joint post which said ‘Welcome baby girl!! 8.9.24.’

The fans of both the actors can't keep calm! They have been showering them and their newborn baby girl with love and blessings in the comments section. One user commented, “Virgo babyyy like me,” while another wrote, “Congratulations.”

Before getting admitted to the hospital, Deepika and Ranveer had visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai with their families. The couple was captured by the paparazzi seeking blessings in traditional Indian attires. In the videos, Deepika was seen flaunting her fully-grown baby bump in a traditional green saree complemented with a matching blouse. Ranveer accompanied the actress by wearing a cream-colored kurta-pajama, styled with a bun and black sunglasses. The couple greeted the crowd with folded hands before entering the temple.

After dating for quite some time, Ranveer and Deepika got hitched in a lavish wedding ceremony in 2018 attended by close friends and family. Meanwhile, in February this year, they announced on Instagram that they are expecting their first child in September.

Deepika was recently seen in Nag Ashwin’s magnum opus film Kalki 2898 AD. Set in the dystopian futuristic world of Kashi, the film revolves around the prophecy that Kalki will be born and rid people of their miseries. Deepika played the role of Sumati. The massive film also starred Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in important roles.

Ranveer, however, was last seen in Karan Johar’s blockbuster film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Alia Bhatt. He will be seen next in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again which also stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Tiger Shroff among others. The actor has also confirmed signing an action-adventure film with director Aditya Dhar co-starring Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Ahead of his baby's arrival, he shot for a schedule in Thailand.
