Dedh Bigha Zameen trailer: Pratik Gandhi fights the system for a piece of land

Pratik Gandhi and Khushali Kumar-starrer Dedh Bigha Zameen is soon going to make its world premiere on JioCinema. The makers of the film unveiled its trailer on social media, which shows a man’s battle against the administration to prove his ownership over a piece of land.

Trailer for Dedh Bigha Zameen

The makers of Dedh Bigha Zameen released the trailer for the film on the official JioCinema Instagram handle. The caption reads, “Sometimes standing against the wrong is more important than defeating it”. Toh chaliye #EkAwaazGalatKeKhilaaf uthate hai #DedhBighaZameen, streaming 31 May onwards, only on JioCinema Premium.”

The trailer begins with a voiceover from Pratik Gandhi, which says, “Kisi bhi bhai ke liye isse bada kya hoga ki uski behen ko accha sasuraal mile (What would be bigger than a brother realising that his sister is marrying into a nice family?).” To this, an old man, assumed to be the soon-to-be father-in-law, says to him, “Baki us din jo bole the (what about the things you said last time?).” Pratik's character then speaks about the dowry that he will give. “Rs 20 lakh cash, jewellery, and a car of your choice.”

The clip then cuts to the behind-the-scenes footage of Pratik collecting the money for the dowry. When his wife asks him how he will raise such a large amount, Pratik tells her not to worry, as everything will fall into place. Later, he is seen planning to sell his 1.5-acre land, only to realise that the land in question is owned by somebody else. This begins his journey to fight a battle against the system to prove his ownership of the property. We then see his dedication to his efforts and attempts to fight the judiciary and system for the sake of his sister.

The trailer has attracted a lot of attention, with people expressing their excitement for the upcoming film. Appreciating Pratik's acting talents, one user wrote, “Best wishes @pratikgandhiofficial. You are the best actor ever.” Another wrote, “@pratikgandhiofficial you are outstanding.”

Starring Pratik Gandhi and Khushali Kumar, Dedh Bigha Zameen is directed by Pulkit. The film will be released on JioCinema on May 31.
