Dalljiet Kaur files FIR against estranged husband Nikhil Patel, alleges cruelty and breach of trust

Television actress Dalljiet Kaur has been making headlines ever since she started posting cryptic messages on her social media about her personal life. Later, the actress revealed that she is separating from her second husband Nikhil Patel. Now, Dalljiet filed an FIR against Nikhil, on the charges of cruelty and criminal breach of trust.

According to a report by Times Now, Dalljiet filed an FIR against Nikhil, on the charges of cruelty and criminal breach of trust under sections 85 and 316 (2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

As per Section 85 of BNS, “Husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty shall be punished with imprisonment for up to three years.” Section 316 (2) of BNS states, “Whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of up to five years”

Dalljiet recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and expressed her gratitude to the police authorities for their support. She wrote, “Thank you Jt Comm Of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache & IO Sachin Shelke along with a lady constable for your efficiency. Thank you AGRIPADA PS for letting a woman know that she is safe in this country.”

Dalljiet and Nikhil’s news around separation

Dalljiet and Nikhil tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2023 after which the couple settled in Kenya with Dalljiet’s son Jaydon. The rumours around the couple’s separation started when Dalljiet and Nikhil unfollowed each other on social media and Dalljiet returned to Mumbai with her son.

Later, Dalljiet started sharing cryptic posts on her social media. In one post, she questioned who is responsible for an extramarital affair, fuelling divorce rumours. Later, Nikhil revealed that he had sent Dalljiet a legal notice after she alleged that he had an extramarital affair.

Dalljiet was earlier married to television actor Shalin Bhanot but got separated in 2015. The couple has a son named Jaydon. Dalljiet married Nikhil Patel in 2023 after which she moved to Kenya with her son Jaydon.
