Dacoit: Mrunal Thakur joins the Adivi Sesh starrer; drops instense FIRST LOOK poster

The makers of Adivi Sesh's starrer film Dacoit ended all speculations around the leading actress of the film on Tuesday (December 17). Marking Adivi Sesh’s birthday, actress Mrunal Thakur revealed her association with the action-drama Telugu film by sharing her first look from the film. The poster image showcases a massy avatar of the actress holding a gun in her hand while looking fiercely in the eyes.

Mrunal Thakur joins Adivi Sesh's Dacoit

Taking to Instagram, Mrunal Thakur unveiled her first poster image from the upcoming film, Dacoit. The poster showcases Mrunal and the lead actor of the film Adivi Sesh sitting inside a car. While Adivi is sitting on the passenger seat, lighting his cigarette, Mrunal is driving the car, wearing a red colored kurta. The actress is holding a gun in her hand and is looking fiercely towards the camera.

The caption reads, “Ha chod diya par sacche dil se pyaar kiya (In Devanagari script) Happy Birthday, @AdiviSesh #DACOIT.” Mrunal shared the post marking Adivi Sesh’s 40th birthday.

The rumors around Mrunal Thakur joining the cast of Dacoit were doing the rounds after Shruti Haasan backed out of the film. Earlier, Adivi had shared a poster image from the film hinting at the heroine of the film. Sharing the teaser poster, Adivi wrote, “I protected her…But she left me…You will know her true nature tomorrow at 11:30AM.”

Dacoit: A Love Story, was announced in 2023 with Sesh and Shruti in the lead. The makers had even released a teaser of the film but due to creative differences, Shruti backed out of the film and moved on to her next project, Coolie with Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan.

Dacoit marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, Dacoit stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. The film follows the journey of an angry convict who plots revenge against his former girlfriend who deceived him.
