CTRL trailer OUT: Ananya Panday joins forces with Vihaan Samat to expose the dark side of social media in this cyber thriller | Watch
Just a few days back, the audiences saw a mint fresh pairing of the svelte Ananya Panday and the handsome Vihaan Samat in the series Call Me Bae, which was extremely loved by everyone alike. The on-screen chemistry between the two was loved so much by the audiences that it now seems that they have become the go-to on screen couple for many filmmakers. The awesome twosome pairing of Ananya Panday and Vihaan Samat can be seen again in yet another OTT offering titled CTRL.
As the title suggests, the film is all about social media and its dangerous dark side. The gripping trailer starts off with the introduction of Ananya Panday as Nella Awasthi and Vihaan Samat as Joe Mascarenhas, who happen to be a much-in-love couple who are the darlings of social media, which explains their huge following in the cyber space.
Life fpr the two takes a drastic turn when they both split with each other. Unable to bear the grief, Nella ‘takes resort’ to cyberspace where she befriends a virtual character, to whom she allows to take ‘control of her life and happiness’. In the process of doing so, Nella starts believing in the mysterious virtual character so much that she ends up requesting him to delete Joe from her life forever. Little does she know that, in the process of executing her command, her by-now-ex-boyfriend lands up going missing.
Thereafter starts the fanatic search by Nella and her friends to find Joe. Do they succeed in finding Joie and what happens after that is what seemingly forms the rest of the gripping film! No wonder then, the tagline of the said film states ‘CTRL your life. ALT your memories. DEL the baggage. CTRL is out on October 4, only on Netflix’.
In a media note shared by the team of CTRL, Ananya Panday was quoted saying that her character Nella was just like any of the common man and that she has been caught up in a world dominated by technology and social media. She added that CTRL explored how people navigate the fine line between one’s online presence and who they are in real life.
She also added that working with Vikramaditya Motwane and Nikhil Dwivedi had been an incredible journey, and that she just could not wait for the audiences to watch it on Netflix and uncover the connection between Nella and Allen.
As for the film, while it has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, it has been produced by Nikhil Dwivedi. The film will be released on Netflix on October 4.
