Confirmed! Rohit Shetty will start working on Golmaal 5 with Ajay Devgn after Singham 3
Rohit Shetty is currently geared up for his OTT debut with Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty. In a recent interview with a news portal, the filmmaker confirmed that Golmaal 5 will happen right after Singham or maybe another year.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is best known for his action-packed drama and rib-tickling comedy flicks. With his Golmaal franchise and Cop universe, he has created a niche for himself and emerged as one of the top commercial filmmakers in recent times. The latest development suggests that he is all set to bring the next instalment of laugh riot Golmaal with Ajay Devgn .
Shetty is currently geared up for his OTT debut with Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty. In a recent interview with a news portal, the filmmaker confirmed that Golmaal 5 will happen right after Singham or maybe another year. He said that he will continue to make Golmaal till he makes films as he enjoys that space. He also stated that he couldn’t able to start the film because of the pandemic which created a backlog for all of them.
For those unaware, the Golmaal franchise is described as screwball comedy film series with four installments to date, The first film Golmaal: Fun Unlimited was released in 2006 which was followed by three direct sequels namely Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017). All four films had Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sanjay Mishra in common.
The Simba director also said that he has not changed the style of filmmaking and sticking to larger-than-life, commercial, and multi-genre films. When everyone in the industry is in chaos, his team is the calmest because they are continuing to make the cinema they believe in. Earlier, he also updated on Singham 3 saying that by April next year, he will start shooting the film with Ajay Devgn. He also promised that it would be the biggest cop universe ever that they have made to date.
Meanwhile, Shetty’s next is Cirkus which is slated to release during the Christmas 2022 weekend. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in double roles. It is reportedly an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, The Comedy of Errors. The film also has Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, and Sanjay Mishra among others.
