CONFIRMED: Ananya Panday set to slay again in Call Me Bae Season 2 | Watch announcement video

‘She came, she saw, she conquered!’ The three words which rightly sums up the Ananya Panday starrer Call Me Bae, a series which was streamed on Prime Video. Not just the critics, but also the cinegoers actually fell in love with the antics of Ananya Panday, whose transformation from a princess of sorts to a common (wo)man was simply extraordinary.

For all those who were eagerly waiting for the series’ second season, well… Her is the good (read ‘best’) news for you. The makers of the series Call Me Bae are now readying (read ‘under production’) the second season of the show.

In order to announce the second season of the series ‘Call Me Bae’, the pretty Ananya Panday took to social media and posted an extremely awesome video teaser of the same. She captioned it as ‘Our day couldn’t get any bae-tter Bella is coming to swoon us over again with a new season #CallMeBaeOnPrime, S2 in development’.

In no time of her posting (read ‘sharing’) this announcement update post, there were an array of messages from many who simply poured their hearts out. One user wrote, ‘This is the best news I could have ever asked for. Ananya Panday is the best choice to play Bae. There is no other girl chic who can play the said role with such elegance and conviction. Ananya should stick to such roles, which will not just get her foothold in the industry, but also escalate her to the top’!

Another user wrote, ‘No other actress can play the role BAE other than Ananya. She proved herself in this show. Kaafi Bae-karaar for this one. Double dose of Bae, double the slay. Season 1 is a superhit season 2 in development love for Ananya. We need such good, comforting romcoms like call me bae so happy it is coming back for season 2. Call me bae is going to be the turning point of ananyas career’.

As for the series Call Me Bae, besides Ananya Panday, it also starred an ensemble cast that included Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur in all important roles. While the series was directed by Colin D'Cunha, it was created by Ishita Moitra, who had also written the story with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair.
