    The year 2022 saw several Hindi films proving duds and South films taking over the box office. As a result, a perception has been created that Bollywood is heading for downfall as it failed to click with the audience. Recently, ace filmmaker Rohit Shetty spoke in defense of Bollywood which left the crowd chanting his name. Even Twitterati is impressed with his intelligent answer to the question about the fate of upcoming Hindi films.

    The filmmaker is on a promotional spree for his upcoming comedy-drama, Cirkus. He recently attended a panel discussion session with Lallantop, along with his cast Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma. When asked about the state of the Hindi film industry. “ It’s not like our films aren’t working, Ek saal kharab gaya aur aap palti maar rahe ho (We had one bad year and you are turning your backs on us)?” The filmmaker cited hits like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Sooryavanshi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Drishyam 2, and many more to support his answers.'

    Soon after, Rohit’s video went viral on Twitter and the social media users lauded the filmmaker's savage statement. One user wrote “This @aajtak anchor was completely destroyed by #RohitShetty .. zyada hoshiyar banne ki koshish kar rahi thi. SAVAGE ROHIT SHETTY” The second comment read, “Only you #RohitShetty could sum up such an intelligent answer in a heartbeat. Spoke for the entire Bollywood fraternity,” added another user. “Man of the moment strikes back with a statement that should have been said a long time ago.     Meanwhile, Rohit’s Cirkus is an adaptation of the 1982 movie Angoor, which itself was based on William Shakespeare's Act The Comedy of Errors. The family entertainer will be the last major release of 2022 which will hit theatres on December 23. Cirkus also has Johnny Lever and Sanjay Mishra in primary roles.
