Chup- Revenge Of The Artist: Amitabh Bachchan shares intriguing teaser of Dulquer Salmaan & Sunny Deol starrer, film looks like an ode to legendary Guru Dutt

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media handle to share the intriguing teaser of the Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol starrer Chup - Revenge Of The Artist. The teaser has been released today (July 9) on the occasion of legendary director-actor-producer Guru Dutt ’s birthday and by the looks of it, the film seems to be an ode to Dutt. The movie has been helmed and written by R Balki.

The teaser begins with Dulquer Salmaan’s character making flowers made of paper, a reference to Guru Dutt’s iconic 1959 film Kaagaz Ke Phool . The actor can be seen humming ‘Happy Birthday to you’ in the tune of the cult song ‘ Waqt Ne Kiya’ from the legendary film. The teaser furthermore shows Shreya Dhanwanthary ’s character looking at Salmaan and saying, ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool on Guru Dutt’s birthday.’

The teaser also shares a glimpse of Sunny Deol ’s character. Shreya Dhanwanthary’s character furthermore says that Guru Dutt was criticized for Kaagaz Ke Phool after which one can hear Sunny shouting ‘Chup’ loudly in his heavy baritone amidst the title of the movie being flashed. One can hear the song ‘Waqt Ne Kiya’ crooned by Geeta Dutt playing at the end. Take a look at the teaser.

The movie Chup- Revenge Of The Artist is touted to be a psychological thriller. In an earlier interview by Dulquer Salmaan, the film was called to be an experimental project by R Balki. Kaagaz Ke Phool helmed by Guru Dutt was negatively received by the masses and critics at the time of its release but was later realized as a cult classic as well as an inspiration for many film students.
