Chhava teaser unveiled at Stree 2 premiere: Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna promise impressive period drama

The buzz for Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Chhava has been increasing ever since the makers announced the film. Now, according to the latest reports, the teaser of Chhava was unveiled during the paid previews of Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, on August 14.

According to reports, the teaser of the period drama film is filled with energetic war sequences, showcasing Vicky in his commanding position. In the teaser, Vicky beautifully captures the essence of Sambhaji Maharaj with impressive conviction.

Vicky is essaying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna stars as his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. The film is scheduled to release on December 6 and the shooting was wrapped up earlier this year, adding more buzz to its release.

Chhava is directed by Laxman Utekar, who is known for his work in films like Mimi (2021) and Luka Chuppi (2019). Chhava marks the second collaboration between Laxman and Vicky Kaushal after their comedy-romance Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), which also starred Sara Ali Khan.

Rashmika, on the other hand, last appeared in Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed Animal, alongside actor Ranbir Kapoor. The actress played the role of Ranbir’s wife in the film.

Maddock’s Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is directed by Jayprad Desai. The film, the sequel to the highly successful film Stree, is set in the town of Chanderi. The horror comedy was released in theatres on August 15.
