Chandramukhi 2: Rajinikanth showers praise on Raghava Lawrence in appreciation letter with no mention of Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram stories and shared Rajinikanth’s letter. Alongside she wrote, “Appreciation letter from Thalaiva Rajinikanth for the success of #Chandramukhi2.”
Kangana Ranaut’s much-awaited movie Chandramukhi 2, which hit the theatres on Thursday, has opened to positive reviews from the audience. The biggest affirmation came from the legendary Rajnikanth, who penned a note appreciating the film, director P Vasu and actor Raghava Lawrence. However, he did not acknowledge Kangana being part of the film as he didn’t mention her name in the letter.
Well, Kangana took to Instagram stories and shared Rajinikanth’s letter. Alongside she wrote, “Appreciation letter from Thalaiva Rajinikanth for the success of #Chandramukhi2.” The note can be loosely translated to, “I heartily congratulate Shri. P. Vasu, who took his massively successful film in a completely new direction, giving cinephiles a beautiful entertainer, and my brother Raghava Lawrence who has acted wonderfully, as well as the entire cast and crew of the film.” Check out the post here:
Raghava Lawrence was quick to notice Rajinikanth’s letter as he re-shared it on Twitter and expressed gratitude. “This has made my day, a surprise love note from my Brother, my Guru, my Thalaivar Superstar Rajinikanth What more praise would we need for #Chandramukhi2 - your encouragement means the world to us. Thank you Thalaiva! Guruve Saranam,” he tweeted.
Helmed by P Vasu, Chandramukhi 2 is a direct sequel to the 2005 hit Chandramukhi, which stars Rajinikanth and Jyotika in lead roles. It follows the incident that took place 150 years prior to the Rajinikanth starrer. It tells the story of King Vettaiyan, who falls in love with the dancer Chandramukhi and takes her captive against her wishes, and the revenge that Chandramukhi plots on the monarch. Despite clashing with two Hindi films The Vaccine War and Fukrey 3, the movie is going strong at the box office. It collected Rs 7.50 crore at the box office on day 1.
