    Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is all set to make her web series debut with Call Me Bae that will release on September 9 on Amazon Prime Video. Now, the makers of Call Me Bae have shared a new promotional video, creating buzz for the upcoming series. The fun video features Karan Johar recreating the iconic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai dialogue.  The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 9.

    The makers released the latest video on the official Instagram page of Amazon Prime Video. The video begins with Karan adding energy, glam quotient and bank balance to Ananya’s ‘rocket’ after which Ananya asks Karan what he is doing.

    When Karan tells Ananya that he is launching her, the actress replies that he has already launched her (Student of the Year 2). Rephrasing a dialogue from his film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan says, “Ananya ham ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, shaadi bhi ek hi baar hoti hai par launch to bar bar ho sakta hai na.”

    When Ananya seems confused, Karan says that earlier he launched her in the movies, while this is her OTT launch.

    The video also hints at the fun plotline of the film. When Ananya asks what she will be playing in the series, Karan says that she will be essaying a very challenging role- a rich girl from South Delhi. He further adds that Ananya will play a rich girl who loses everything, moves to Mumbai and struggles for everything.

    The video ends with the reveal of Ananya’s character in Call Me Bae who is fashionable and does odd jobs to make a living in Mumbai.

    Apart from Ananya, the show features Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.

    Written by Ishita, Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair, Call Me Bae is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra, the 8-part series has been created by Ishita Moitra.

    Ananya was last seen in the 2023 film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which was released on Netflix. She also had a cameo performance in Bad Newz, starring Triptii Dimri, Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.
