Amazon Prime Video on Thursday unveiled the trailer for the upcoming Telugu series, Bujji & Bhairava, which serves as a prelude to the mammoth project, Kalki 2898 AD. The series is an animated version seemingly aimed at acclimatizing audiences to the fantasy world that director Nag Ashwin has created for Kalki 2898 AD.

Telugu superstars Prabhas and Keerthy Suresh have lent their voices to the animated versions of their characters, Bhairava and Bujji, in the series. This series marks Prabhas's debut on streaming. He seems to be doing everything to promote the movie, which is touted to be one of the most expensive movies ever made in India.

The trailer for Bujji & Bhairava gives us a glimpse of life in the cinematic universe of Kalki 2898 AD. The series tackles the classic themes of the fight between the haves and the have-nots. Bhairava seems to live on the edge of the city, which is a landfill for all automobile waste.

Bhairava has a plan. He dreams of buying a motorbike and becoming a top bounty hunter so that he can access the "complex." In this pursuit, he becomes friends with the robot Bujji. Towards the end of the trailer, Bujji asks Bhairava about their future course of action. Both of them are sitting on top of a metal waste heap. It seems that Bhairava will recycle all the discarded parts of the automobiles and fashion a 6-ton beast of a car to pursue his dream of becoming a bounty hunter.

The series will introduce us to the key characters, rules, and regulations of the cinematic world, helping us enjoy Kalki 2898 AD without too much exposition. The series also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.

Bujji & Bhairava will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on May 31.
