    About Buddy

Directed by Sam Anton, Buddy shares similarities with Arya's 2021 Tamil film Teddy but has a different backdrop and setting. In Buddy, Allu Sirish plays a pilot who is approached by a teddy bear to help him out on a special mission. Ajmal Amir plays the main antagonist, while Ali plays a key role. Gayatri Bhardwaj stars as the female lead.

Allu Sirish on incorporating CGI in Buddy

In a recent interview, actor Allu Sirish revealed that the teddy bear was built from scratch and that the team faced challenges adding its CGI during post-production.

“A massive teddy bear was created from scratch. The film is about a teddy bear who comes to life and changes the life of the hero. Shooting with a teddy bear was a bit difficult as there was a lot of CG work added in post-production. The teddy would speak and give expressions, and all that would be added later. So imagining the teddy speaking to me and giving reactions was a bit tough initially,” he shared.

The film, produced by G. Gnanavel Raja, has been released today in both Tamil and Telugu versions.
