    Akshay Kumar has often been the target of trolls who called him ‘Canadian Kumar’ for holding Canadian citizenship. The actor on Tuesday shared a picture of his official government documents and announced that he is now an Indian citizen. “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!” he captioned the photo he shared on Instagram in which he is holding his documents. As soon as his post surfaced, fans took a dig at trolls who used to criticised the Khiladi actor.

    Akshay’s latest release OMG 2 has been received positively at the box office. The actor played the role of Lord Shiva’s messenger who guides his devotee played by Pankaj Tripathi in the movie. Directed by Amit Rai, the film is a sequel to the 2012 film Oh My God-OMG and also stars Yami Gautam and Arun Govil in pivotal roles. Released on August 11, 2023, the film has so far amassed Rs 53 crore at the box office. The film also gives a social message on the importance of sex education.

    Meanwhile, Akshay has interesting projects lined up in his kitty. He will next feature in the action thriller film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Tiger Shroff. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is all set to hit the theatres on the occasion of Eid 2024. Besides that, the actor will be reuniting with Riteish Deshmukh for the comedy film Housefull 5. There are reports that he has also signed up for the third instalment of the comedy franchise Hera Pheri.
