SonyLIV has confirmed the premiere date for its latest Telugu web series, Brinda. The crime thriller will mark actress Trisha's debut on streaming, adding her to the growing list of A-listers joining the OTT bandwagon.

Brinda will become available for streaming on SonyLIV on August 2. Written and directed by Surya Manoj Vangala, Trisha plays the lead role as a daring woman police officer. The web series is shot in Telugu, but it will also be available in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali and Hindi.

    Brinda teaser is out!

While announcing the OTT release date for Brinda, SonyLIV also dropped a teaser for the series. Judging from the promo video, Brinda promises an intense investigative thriller. However, the series seemingly aims to offer more than just thrills; it appears to mirror the challenges that women face in society.

The teaser for Brinda opens with a young girl being subjected to a ritual, which seems like a part of a superstitious practice. Will that young girl survive? Even if she does, the incident likely leaves her traumatized for life.

"We don't need to fight our anger and hatred, but fight to protect the goodness we have in us from disappearing," a man tells Trisha's Brinda. He even reminds her that the world is full of evil, and it's up to her to fill it with goodness as much as she can in her lifetime.

It seems this becomes Brinda's guiding light and gives her the courage to keep following the path of justice, courage, and goodness even in the darkest of times.

It is safe to assume that Brinda is vulnerable, yet strong. She seems to derive her strength from her willingness to help the helpless no matter how difficult it gets. The series is set against the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh and follows the investigation into a crime that leaves a slew of people traumatized.

Besides Trisha, the series also stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Jaya Prakash, Aamani, and Ravindra Vijay, among others. The web series is shot in Telugu, but it will also be available in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Martai, Bengali and Hindi.
