Border 2 - Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh to begin shooting in November?

The makers of Sunny Deol-starrer Border 2 had earlier revealed that the actor would be joined by Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh in the war drama film. Now, the latest reports reveal that the star cast will begin shooting for the film on November 25 in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition to these two locations, most of the film will be shot in actual locations.

Border 2 to begin shooting in November

The reports reveal that the pre-production work for Border 2 has been ongoing for almost a year now and the team is finally gearing up to take the film on floors on November 25. Director Anurag Singh along with his team are set to start the recce for the film within a week.

The reports also revealed that the makers have decided to shoot at locations including Jammu and Srinagar. The team has planned to shoot a lot of scenes at actual locations of the special armed forces and in areas along the borders of India to give a realistic feel to the film.

“The idea is to make a high-octane yet authentic war film. Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta along with director Anurag Singh are leaving no stone unturned to bring to the spectacle a film that makes the cinema-going audience proud and celebrates the legacy of part one,” the source added.

The film will be shot for six months and is scheduled to release in January 2026. The report concluded, “The film will be shot over a 6-month period from November to May and is gearing up for a Republic Day 2026 release. Heavy planning is going into the logistics to pull off an action-heavy and cult franchise like this in a professional manner, sticking to the planned timelines.”

Backed by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh. Scheduled to be released in January 2026, the film will feature Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. Border 2 is a sequel film of JP Dutta’s 1997 film titled Border, which starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, among others.
