Border 2: Suniel Shetty says ‘can’t hold back my excitement’; is he part of the sequel?

The announcement of Border 2, the sequel to JP Dutta’s cult-classic film Border, is surely the most exciting news in Bollywood today. Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, who was part of the 1997 war drama, too shared the video announcement about the film on his social media. Though Suniel Shetty has not revealed if he will be reprising the role of army officer Bhairav Singh in the upcoming film, he said he can’t hold back his excitement for the upcoming war film.
Border 2 is in the making
Suniel Shetty took to Instagram and shared a video clip, revealing Border 2 is in the making. The video begins with a voiceover of actor Sunny Deol saying, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vaada kiya tha ki wo wapis ayega ussi vade ko pura karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne aa raha hai Veer Singh (27 years ago, an army officer had made a promise that he will be back. He is coming back to fulfil his promise and pay his greetings to his motherland).”
Suniel Shetty captioned the post, “Border is back!!! And I can't hold back my excitement. Proud, proud proud of you @nidhiduttaofficial! And a huge congratulations to the mighty Battalion. History is in the making again!”
Border fans couldn't control their excitement and flooded the comment section, revealing their anticipation for the war film. One social media user wrote, “Its enough I can't wait more,” while another wrote, “Oh my god....high expectations.”
On the other hand, Sunny Deol might reprise his role as Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in the film. The actor took to his social media and revealed his association with the sequel film recently. He wrote, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.”
Border sequel
Anurag Singh will direct the film, which is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The makers have yet to reveal the plotline and the star cast of the film.
Border 2 will be the sequel to J.P. Dutta’s iconic film Border which was set around the India-Pakistan War of 1971, depicting the events of the battle of Longewala. The film starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, and Puneet Issar, with supporting roles played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Rakhee, Pooja Bhatt, and Sharbani Mukherjee.
