Border 2: After Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh to feature in Sunny Deol's war-drama film, says 'Honoured to stand with such...'

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is set to feature alongside Sunny Deol in the war-drama film, Border 2. Now, the makers of the film have revealed that popular singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh will also be a part of this ensemble cast. Sharing a video message on social media, the singer-actor said that he ‘feels honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers.’

Taking to Instagram, Diljit shared a video message revealing that he will feature in Border 2. The video begins with the song Sandese Aate Hai playing in the background while the words ‘The bravest of the brave come together for the biggest war’ are displayed on the screen.

Later as pictures of soldiers on the battlefield play on the video, a voiceover from Diljit says, “Is desh ki taraf uthane wali har nazar jhuk jati hai khauf se. In sarhado par guru ke paas jab pehra dete hain.”

Diljit captioned the post, “Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers! #Border2.”

Reacting to the announcement, Sunny’s brother, actor Bobby Deol commented on the post with multiple clap emojis. A social media user wrote, “It is getting bigger and bigger day by day,” while another user said “Border 2 is getting more exciting day by day!"

Earlier, actor Varun Dhawan took to social media and announced his association with Border 2. Sharing a video message on Instagram, Varun wrote, “I look forward to bring a valiant jawaan’s story to screen in what promises to be India’s biggest war film. I seek your good wishes Jai Hind.”

Border 2 is produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar and is directed by Anurag Singh. The film is scheduled to release on January 23, 2026. It will be a sequel film to JP Dutta’s Border, released in 1997. The film starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, among others. The film became a blockbuster hit at the box office.
