Bipasha reveals her daughter Devi underwent open heart surgery three months after her birth, shares her health update

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover were blessed with their first child, baby girl Devi Basu Singh Grover on November 12, 2022. It was recently known that the couple had to undergo a difficult time right after their daughter’s birth as she was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition. In a recent chat with actor Neha Dhupia, Bipasha cried recalling the open heart surgery of her newborn daughter.

The Ajnabee actress began by describing her parenthood journey to be different from any normal parents. “I got to know on the third day of me having a baby that our baby is born with two holes in her heart. I thought I'll not share this, but I'm sharing this because I feel that there are a lot of mothers, who helped me in this journey, and it was very difficult to find those mothers... ”she told Neha in a live video chat.

She further said that they wanted to celebrate her birth but the first five months have been difficult for them. They were told that with that kind of large hole, surgery is the option if it doesn’t heal on its own. She mentioned that Karan was not ready for the open heart surgery, however, she had to take the tough decision and get her child operated on. Finally, the surgery happened when Devi was three-months-old, and the operation went on for six hours. Now, her baby girl is okay.

Earlier, Bipasha had shared a cute video that sums up some of their best memories from Devi’s first vacation. In the clip, the couple took Devi out in a pram as she soaked in the views. “Just the three of us and our awesome adventures. Goa was gorgeous this monsoon,” she wrote followed by a heart emoji. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Bipasha was last seen in the mini-series Dangerous, directed by Vikram Bhatt. The series stars her alongside her husband Karan Singh Grover.
