Binny And Family trailer: Anjini Dhawan is a frustrated NRI teenage girl in her debut film | Watch

Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Binny And Family. The makers of the film recently took to social media and shared the film’s trailer depicting the struggles of an NRI teenage girl living with her Indian grandparents abroad. Helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, the film will hit the theatres on September 20.

The makers of Binny And Family took to social media and shared the film’s trailer. The trailer begins by introducing the viewers to Binny (Anjini Dhawan), an NRI teenage girl whose life turns upside down after her grandparents from Bihar visit her family abroad. Binny who loves to party and wears short clothes is now forced to follow the ‘stereotypical good girl behaviour.’

Binny, who is high-spirited and likes to live her life away from the confines of her family, is now asked to share space with her grandparents and eat food at the family table. In one scene, Binny expresses her irritation after her dadi (grandmother) stitched her ripped jeans thinking they were torn.

Seeing Binny’s irritation, her mother takes her case to her father, saying that Binny needs her space. Binny’s father replies that he cannot make his father realise the concept of space. In another scene, when Binny is out partying late at night, her grandfather raises questions about women’s safety.

Because of Binny’s growing discomfort with her grandfather, the father-daughter relationship also gets strained as her father is not ready to take Binny’s side in the matter.

The trailer depicts the growing discomfort between different generations due to the lack of communication. The trailer ends with Pankaj Kapur saying, “do generation mein jitna communication gap hoga, generation gap utna bada hoga.”

Helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, Binny And Family stars Anjini Dhawan, Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri, Rajesh Kumar and Charu Shankar. The film is backed by Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, Mahaveer Jain Films and Waveband Pictures.

For those unaware, Anjini Dhawan is the granddaughter of actor Anil Dhawan and is the daughter of Siddharth Dhawan. She was an assistant director on the sets of Coolie No 1.
