Big Brother director Guddu Dhanoa talks about Priyanka Chopra’s initial days, says he was ‘asked to get rid of the actress’
Director Guddu Dhanoa recently spoke about his experience of shooting with Priyanka Chopra Jonas on his film Big Brother.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has proven her acting prowess after appearing in films such as 7 Khoof Maaf, Dostana, and Don 2 among others. The actress later moved to Hollywood and made her international debut with the television series Quantico. Big Brother director Guddu Dhanoa recently spoke about his experience of shooting with Priyanka Chopra Jonas during the actress’ initial days in the industry.

Director Guddu Dhanoa, who directed the actress in Kismet and Big Brother, spoke about the actress and revealed that Big Brother was supposed to be her first film and how she was almost thrown out of it. During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the director reminisced about the time they were shooting for Big Brother in Hyderabad and the actress would ask people to enact the scene as she did not know much about acting. He said, “She would say, ‘Please explain to me, how do I do it.’ It means she has a hunger to learn, she had it at that time, she wanted to do it, wanted to do it very well, and her looks were also good.”
He added that after almost a month of shooting the film, he was asked to get rid of the actress as she did not look good and could not act well. He said, “After we shot for 15-20 days we started getting reports from Mumbai that she looks very bad, she is a very bad actor, please watch the rushes. So, I said okay, we will watch the rushes.'”
How Sunny Deol helped Priyanka Chopra
Guddu revealed how actor Sunny Deol, who was a producer on the film, wanted to go ahead with Priyanka. He said, “After watching the rushes, Sunny Deol and I, both of us decided that we will work with this girl and complete the film with this girl only. And I think we liked her; I mean we liked her screen presence, and we liked her as an actor too. We thought she would grow, and we were right. She later grew a lot as a person and actor."
Meanwhile, Priyanka, along with her husband Nick Jonas, was recently seen attending Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in Mumbai on July 12. The actress is currently shooting for her upcoming film The Bluff in Australia.
