Baby John: Jackie Shroff’s gripping poster builds anticipation for Varun Dhawan's thriller film

Bollywood star Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film Baby John is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. Helmed by Kalees, the film is a remake of Atlee's 2016 Tamil film titled Theri. The makers of Baby John have now released the first poster of actor Jackie Shroff from the film.

Varun took to his Instagram stories and revealed actor Jackie Shroff’s association with the film. The actor shared a monochrome poster image featuring Jackie smoking, with thrilling background music. The makers of Baby John had earlier revealed on social media that the film will hit the theatres on December 25, 2024.

Helmed by Kalees, Boby John, starring Varun Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, Sanya Malhotra and Wamiqa Gabbi, will mark the Bollywood debut of South actress Keerthy Suresh. Speaking about her character, Keerthy earlier told Galatta Plus, "It's always scary to do remakes, but this one, I’m not scared. The character has been written beautifully, it has been picturized very well. It has come out very well. I have all my hopes high on Baby John," she added.

Salman Khan in Baby John

Earlier, a report by Pinkvilla revealed that Atlee would be directing a special cameo appearance of Bollywood star Salman Khan for the film. The report stated, “While Baby John is helmed by Kalees, the cameo of Salman Khan, alongside the combination scenes with Varun Dhawan are being directed by Atlee himself. In fact, the entire cameo sequence of Salman is written, conceptualised and executed by Atlee.”

The report added that the sequence has dialogues, action and a fun camaraderie between Salman Khan and Varun Dhawan. It also stated that Salman’s grand entry has been designed keeping the larger-than-life aura of the actor in mind.

Jackie Shroff’s films

Besides Baby John, Jackie Shroff is all set to feature in his upcoming film, Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Again where he will be essaying the role of an antagonist. The actor will be sharing screen space with his son Tiger Shroff who is also a part of Singham Again.
