Babil Khan gets teary-eyed at screening of his father Irrfan Khan's last film The Song of Scorpions
Babil was seen in a black-white ensemble posing for the shutterbugs. He held up his tears as he gave a kiss to his father’s poster at the screening.
Irrfan Khan is no more but he left behind his legacy which boasts of remarkable acting prowess and filmography. The supremely talented actor passed away at the age of 54 after a long battle with cancer. Recently, the screening of his last film, The Song of Scorpions, was hosted by the makers and Irrfan’s son Babil Khan and several other celebrities came to watch the movie.
A video that has surfaced on the internet shows Babil dressed in a black-white ensemble posing for the shutterbugs. He held up his tears as he posed for the pictures and also gave a kiss to his father’s poster at the screening. Reacting to the video, one of the netizens wrote, “I can sense n smell all his emotions. Only those can feel who lost their parents or one of them when they needed them most. Every inch of life changes.” Another commented, “Stay strong young man your father leaves his loveable image in our hearts he will be always there in our hearts forever.”
Babil has been actively promoting his father’s last film on social media for a few days. Talking about the film, The Song of Scorpions is a tragic love story which features Irrfan in the role of a camel trader. It revolves around a young woman who saved the lives of those bitten by a Scorpio by singing a special song for them. She falls in love with Aadam played by Irrfan. The film had its first world premiere at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland in 2017. And after six years, it is slated to hit theatres today i.e. April 28, 2023, a day ahead of Irrfan’s death anniversary.
Meanwhile, Babil made his acting debut with the Netflix film, Qala, alongside Tripti Dimri. He will next be seen in the web series, The Railway Men based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. He has also collaborated with ace filmmaker Shoojit Sircar for his next project.
