Baba Siddique passes away: Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt's sister Priya, and more mourn his tragic loss

    The country is mourning the death of politician Baba Siddique after he was shot last night (October 12) with bullets by three unknown assailants in Bandra. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader had connections with Bollywood stars including Salman Khan, and Shilpa Shetty among others, who rushed to the hospital to meet his family while other celebs like Pooja Bhatt, Priya Dutt, Mahhi Vij, and Riteish Deshmukh mourned his loss on social media.

    Baba Siddique, who was close to Salman Khan and many others in the industry, was killed outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra. According to the reports, two killers have been detained while the third one is on the run. As soon as the news of his shooting was out, it left everyone shocked.

    Pooja Bhatt took to social media and expressed her grief over Baba Siddique’s passing away. Her heart-wrenching note read, “Devastated with the news about Baba Siddique passing. More so by the manner in which his slide was taken. Have known him since a teenager. This is a blow to all of us who knew & hung with him beyond the public figure & politician he was. He fed us. Made us laugh. Took our criticism & answered difficult questions with candour. He was a friend. Those laughter & nostalgia filled evenings with the original bad boys of Bandra- the TIFFIN gang as we still call ourselves, will never be the same. May his death not be vain. Law & order must prevail. Greed is the new pandemic & is leaving destruction in its wake.”

    Sanjay Dutt’s sister and also former Lok Sabha member and Congress leader, Priya Dutt also took to X and wrote a note for the NCP leader. She wrote, “Today, I'm shaken to the by the news of Baba Siddique's tragic death, it has shocked me. Baba was more than a political associate; he was family. To my father, Baba Siddique was like a son, and to me, he was a brother and a dear friend. Throughout my father's political journey and beyond, he stood steadfast, by his side. When I entered politics, he guided me through its ups and downs, offering his unwavering support.”

    Mahhi Vij shared pictures of Baba holding her daughter Tara in his arms at an event. In the caption, Mahhi called him ‘kindest, generous and loving.’  “We love you forever. Still can’t believe someone who protected Al of us. Pampered us. Tara Kidhar hai. Arre mera bacha Tara. We wil never hear these words again. Tara is lucky to have got so much love from you. The most kindest generous and loving Baba.We all felt so protected don’t know how to face this. As tears roll down Al I want to say is we had you and we lost u. You gave us so much. Tiger ho aap aur hamesha rahoge. We love you,” she wrote.

    Riteish Deshmukh also reacted to the incident by taking to X. He wrote, “The perpetrators of this horrific crime must be brought to justice.”  Genelia Deshmukh too wrote, "Truly devastating to hear about the loss of #BabaSidhiqui ji .. Prayers and strength to

    Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared a picture of the late politician and wrote, “Baba (with a broken heart emoji).”

    Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty, and Zaheer Iqbal rush to Lilavati Hospital

    After receiving the news of Baba’s passing away, Salman Khan reportedly canceled his Bigg Boss shoot and rushed to Lilavati Hospital. Actress Shilpa Shetty was also seen arriving with her husband Raj Kundra. In one of the videos, the actress was seen holding back her tears.

    Sonakshi Sinha’s husband and actor Zaheer Iqbal was also spotted arriving at the hospital to offer his condolences and support to the grieving family.

    For those unaware, NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra on October 12. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he was declared dead. After ending his long-standing association with the Congress Party this year, he joined Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

    Now, a while ago, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the NCP leader would get cremated with full state honors.
